Olympics.com: South Asian Games 2027 set for Pakistan in April

Olympics.com, the official digital platform of the Olympic Movement, has reported that Pakistan will host the South Asian Games from 3 to 11 April 2027 across Islamabad, Lahore and Peshawar.

The report summarises the South Asia Olympic Council (SAOC) decision, the long series of postponements since the original 2021 target, and the scale of the 14th edition — 28 sports, 346 medal events and more than 3,200 athletes.

Olympics.com also highlights India’s historic dominance at the Games (including topping the 2019 Kathmandu–Pokhara medal table), while noting that India’s 2027 participation was still unconfirmed at the time of publication. Bangladesh, Bhutan, the Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka are listed as expected competitors.
