OCA: Tashkent meeting first set March 2027 window for SAG

The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) reported that South Asian National Olympic Committees, meeting on the sidelines of the 46th OCA General Assembly in Tashkent, unanimously rescheduled the 14th South Asian Games for 23–31 March 2027, with up to one week of flexibility.

The January 2026 meeting was chaired by HRH Prince Jigyel Ugyen Wangchuck, OCA Vice President for South Asia and president of the Bhutan Olympic Committee. NOC leaders from Bangladesh, India, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Pakistan took part.

Member countries kept the previously finalised sports programme and discussed a more sustainable model for South Asian multi-sport events. Pakistan invited partners to visit in May 2026 to review preparations. (SAOC later moved the Games to 3–11 April 2027 at its Islamabad meeting.)
