On 24 August 2026, Prime Minister’s Youth Programme chairman Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan welcomed a South Asian Games delegation led by POA and SAOC president Arif Saeed at the Prime Minister’s Office.
Official messaging around the visit restated that the Games will run from 3 to 11 April 2027, with 346 medal events in 28 sports across Islamabad, Lahore and Peshawar, and roughly 3,200 athletes expected.
