SAOC inspects Islamabad venues for South Asian Games 2027

A day after endorsing the April 2027 schedule, a South Asia Olympic Council (SAOC) delegation inspected key competition venues in Islamabad.

At the Pakistan Sports Complex, Pakistan Sports Board director general Yawar Hussain, joined by POA president Arif Saeed and secretary general Khalid Mehmood, briefed visitors on infrastructure, technical facilities and readiness plans.

Sites reviewed included Jinnah Stadium, Amir Khan Hall, Hamidi Hall, Rodham Hall, Liaquat Gymnasium, the shooting range, Rawal Lake (rowing) and the Pakistan Tennis Federation complex.

Organisers say venue upgrades are targeted for completion before early 2027, after which member countries may be invited for a final inspection visit.
