Preparations gain momentum across Islamabad, Lahore and Peshawar

As of mid-September 2026, Pakistan’s preparations for the 14th South Asian Games are described as gathering pace across all three host cities.

The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB), working with the Pakistan Olympic Association and other stakeholders, is coordinating competition and training venues, accommodation, transport, medical services and wider operations.

Those arrangements follow the late-August SAOC executive meetings and Islamabad venue tour. Officials say the focus is on meeting international standards before athletes and teams arrive in April 2027.

In Islamabad, the Capital Development Authority has also been linked to visitor accommodation planning for the Games and other major 2027 events in the capital.
